Zakhar Okunev - B.Eng., P.Eng.

Zakhar Okunev graduated from the British Columbia Institute of Technology Civil Engineering degree program during which time he worked on the construction side of geotechnical improvements. Following graduating, Zakhar transitioned to a design role in 2017 and has since been involved with a variety of projects throughout BC and abroad, including the Greater Vancouver area, Kelowna and Washington. Zakhar is experienced in seismic design, foundation design, slope stability assessments, retaining wall design, shoring design, and soft soil engineering for projects ranging from small residential development to high-rise buildings, tilt-up commercial buildings, and municipal works. Recent project highlights include deep shored excavations in Vancouver (over 30 m deep), deep shored excavations in Richmond (over 9 m deep), and deep shored excavations in Kelowna (over 14 m deep). Zakhar has utilized his knowledge to prepare technical papers and presentations for internal company continuing education and external technical talks.

Zakhar is registered as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia and has experience with being the design lead and Engineer of Record on various jobs. Zakhar looks forward to working with you on the next challenging site to assist with the most efficient and cost-effective solution.
