Mohammad Deriszadeh - Ph.D., P.Eng.
Mohammad completed his PhD studies at the University of Calgary on the topic of swelling shales of northern Alberta, which included the numerical and experimental modeling of fluid flow through porous media. Mohammad started his career with Golder Associates Ltd. in Calgary, AB in 2010 while finishing his PhD studies at the University of Calgary. After graduating from the University of Calgary in early 2012, Mohammad continued working for Golder (Greater Vancouver Office) for approximately 2 years as a geotechnical specialist and then he joined GeoPacific Consultants Ltd. as a Project Manager.
His work experience has consisted of several projects including design and analysis for highway expansion and bridge abutments, mine tailings dam siting study and design (Golder), finite element slope stability, seepage and stress-strain analyses for geomaterials (Golder and GeoPacific), geotechnical investigations and reports, several types of deep excavations/shoring designs, deep and shallow foundations, ground improvement, dike and cut-off wall designs (GeoPacific). Mohammad’s projects at GeoPacific include residential/commercial buildings ranging from low-rise individual buildings to multi-tower residential/commercial as well as industrial developments in Alberta and British Columbia.
