Sean Heffernan - B.Sc., M.Sc., P.Geo.
Sean Heffernan is a registered Professional Geoscientist with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) and is a senior hydrogeologist at GeoPacific, having joined the company in 2020. Sean graduated from University of Galway in 2014 with a degree in Earth Science, and subsequently pursued a Master of Science in Hydrogeology and Water Management from Newcastle University. Sean had 5 years of international consultancy experience gained before joining GeoPacific, where he had worked on hydrogeological inputs for several high-profile projects in the United Kingdom including the High-Speed-2 Railway, East West Rail Expansion and Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station.
As part of his role at GeoPacific, Sean specialises in Engineering Hydrogeology and is responsible for overseeing and designing geotechnical and hydrogeological field investigations across a diverse portfolio of developments and addressing the requirements of relevant municipal, provincial, and federal legislation. His technical experience includes detailed reporting, hydrogeological conceptualisation, groundwater well design and installation, groundwater supply feasibility studies, aquifer testing, groundwater modelling, design of groundwater seepage mitigation, dewatering plans and design of infiltration systems. Sean is an advocate for the application of open-source geographic information systems (GIS) software.
